The History of Economic Thought group at the Department of Economics and Statistics “Cognetti de Martiis” (Università di Torino) is pleased to announce a new training programme, Teaching Economics in the Digital Era, dedicated to exploring the impact of Artificial Intelligence on the teaching of economics and the history of economic thought.
This Blended Intensive Programme (BIP), developed within the UNITA framework (Universitas Montium, an alliance of twelve higher education institutions), offers colleagues an opportunity to reflect collectively on the challenges and opportunities that AI is introducing into higher education. The programme aims to foster discussion on how digital tools are reshaping teaching practices, learning processes, and the transmission of economic knowledge, while also supporting participants in experimenting with AI-based applications and developing innovative, internationally oriented teaching approaches.
The training combines online activities—structured in two phases (April–July 2026 and September–December 2026)—with a final week of in-person sessions in Turin (25–29 January 2027). Through a mix of lectures, practical activities, and collaborative project work, participants will strengthen their competences in AI-enhanced teaching, instructional design, and the development of international initiatives such as COIL and BIP projects.
The programme ultimately aims to build a community of scholars engaged in rethinking economics education in the digital era, promoting both pedagogical innovation and international collaboration. Participants who complete the programme will receive a Certificate of Participation and an Open Badge.
