Call for Papers<\/strong>
\nThe Department of Economics and Management and the Interuniversity Centre for Documentation on Italian Economic Thought (CIPEI) of the University of Pisa, organize a conference on \u201cEconomists and Economics in Italy during Fascism\u201d. The aim of the conference is to draw the attention of scholars to a historical period in which economics is confronted with epochal changes between the decline of the nineteenth-century State and the birth of different economic systems. In an attempt to account for both the synchronic specificities and the diachronic continuity of an era that has marked contemporary Italy, the conference aims to explore a wide range of topics, including the history of facts and institutions that have most influenced the formation of economic knowledge, the scientific biographies of the main economists, the relationship between economics and politics, the spread of the Keynesian paradigm, the birth of econometrics, the main themes of debate, such as the investigation of market forms, the explanation of cyclical dynamics and crises, the intervention of the State in the economy, corporatism and so on.
\nDuring the conference a special session will be reserved to the presentation of the final results of the Research Project \u201cItalian Economics under Fascism: an institutional profile\u201d (2017-2018), which analyses the role of academic and non-academic institutions in the formation and circulation of economic ideas in Italy focusing attention on some questions that appear crucial such as the role played by economics in creating the \u201cnew order\u201d or the relationships between \u201credeemed\u201d and \u201cunredeemed\u201d economists among many others. In order to create an opportunity for open and interdisciplinary discussion among historians of economics, economists and economic historians, we kindly invite scholars to submit a paper proposal, sending a title and abstract (150 words) to: direzione@cipei.unipi.it<\/a>.

\nIl Dipartimento di Economia e Management e il Centro Interuniversitario di documentazione sul Pensiero Economico Italiano (CIPEI), dell\u2019Universit\u00e0 di Pisa, organizzano un convegno su Economisti e scienza economica in Italia durante il Fascismo. L\u2019obiettivo del convegno \u00e8 quello di richiamare l\u2019attenzione degli studiosi su un periodo storico in cui la scienza economica si confronta con cambiamenti epocali tra il tramonto dello Stato ottocentesco e la nascita di differenti sistemi economici. Nel tentativo di dar conto sia delle specificit\u00e0 sincroniche che delle continuit\u00e0 diacroniche di un\u2019epoca che ha segnato l\u2019Italia contemporanea, il convegno si propone di esplorare un ampio ventaglio di argomenti tra i quali la storia dei fatti e delle istituzioni che hanno maggiormente influito sulla formazione del sapere economico, le biografie scientifiche dei principali economisti, i rapporti tra economia e politica, la diffusione del paradigma keynesiano, la nascita dell’econometria, i principali temi di dibattito, come l’indagine sulle forme di mercato, la spiegazione delle dinamiche cicliche e delle crisi, l’intervento dello Stato nell’economia e, naturalmente, il tema centrale del corporativismo.
\nNell\u2019ambito del convegno sar\u00e0 organizzata una sessione speciale nella quale saranno presentati i lavori conclusivi del Progetto di ricerca (2017-2018) “La scienza economica italiana durante il fascismo: un profilo istituzionale” che analizza in particolare il ruolo delle istituzioni accademiche ed extra-accademiche nella formazione e diffusione delle idee economiche nel nostro Paese, anche con l’obiettivo di rispondere ad alcuni quesiti cruciali come, ad esempio, quello relativo al ruolo svolto dalla scienza economica nella costruzione dell'”ordine nuovo”, o la questione – solo apparentemente interna alla disciplina – dei rapporti tra economisti allineati e non-allineati.
\nNell\u2019intento di creare un\u2019occasione di confronto aperto e interdisciplinare con gli economisti e gli storici economici, si invitano gli studiosi a presentare un contributo al convegno, comunicandone il titolo entro il 31 luglio 2018 all\u2019indirizzo: direzione@cipei.unipi.it<\/a><\/p>\n
