How to get to Padova

By train
You can easily reach Padova by train because all the lines from Milan to Venice and from Rome to Venice stop in Padova. With the Frecciarossa or Frecciargento (high speed) trains it takes four hours from Turin, 3 and a half from Rome, two from Milan. Timetables can be seen and reservations can be done at the Trenitalia website: http://www.trenitalia.com/

By plane
There are three main airports close to Padova: From Venice Marco Polo (www.veniceairport.it) and Treviso airport (www.trevisoairport.it) it takes about ¾ of an hour drive to reach Padova (car rentals available in both airports); from both the airports there is a collective taxis service called Air Service (www.airservicepadova.it); see http://www.airservicepadova.it/en/airservice/rates for the rates. For cheaper prices you can also use the public buses – SITA - which run from both airports to the bus station in Padova (close to the railway station) every 30 minutes (one hour during weekends); see the timetables at www.sitabus.it. The travel takes a bit more than one hour and tickets can be directly purchased at the airports. The airport Valerio Catullo of Verona (www.aeroportoverona.it) is about one hour drive from Padova. It is also connected to the local railway station Verona Porta Nuova by a bus running every 20 minutes; several trains connect Verona Porta Nuova with Padova in about one hour (www.trenitalia.it).

By car
Travelling from West, you may take the motorway A4 Milan-Venice and exit at “Padova Ovest”; travelling from East, exit at “Padova Est”: from both it is possible to reach the city centre in a few minutes. From the South, the motorway A13 Bologna-Padova ends at the beginning of the city bypass which has several exits to the city centre.
